OK, so Charlie’s ready, I’m ready, but the fields aren’t.  Nothing but grasshoppers.  After a dozen or so today, Charlie seems to finally be bored with them. Today was Charlie’s day.  Smash dropped another tail feather, so he’s sidelined for a week or two.  Just as well because Charlie needs to be the focus. Dove season opened last Monday.  LSU has won their first game and our high school opens the season tomorrow.  The first pumpkin plant is poking up.  The turnips and beets should be showing soon.  Summer’s relentless heat is gone and it was 65 this morning.
